Package description:

Code_Aster is a software package for finite element analysis and numeric simulation in structural mechanics originally developed as an in-house application by the French company EDF. It was released as free software under the terms of the GNU General Public License, in October 2001.

For your convenience, we have provided some binary packages below.

Installation Notes:

  • Prerequisites: Code_Aster requires Python and TCL to install, as well as a Fortran compiler.
  • Unix installation: To install Code_Aster on Linux, you must uncompress the package in /opt/aster with the following command: tar xvzf Code_Aster-9.0-Linux-xxx-re4.tar.gz -C /opt/aster/
  • Windows installation: to install Code_Aster on Windows, run the installer and follow the instructions. Code_Aster is only available on Windows XP, 2000 32-bits, it is not available on Windows Vista.
