Package description:
Code_Aster is a software package for finite element analysis and numeric
simulation in structural mechanics originally developed as an in-house
application by the French company EDF. It was released as free software under
the terms of the GNU General Public
License, in October 2001.
Code_Aster can be downloaded from the official web site
(french language, no english translation).
For your convenience, we have provided some binary packages below.
Installation Notes:
- Prerequisites: Code_Aster requires Python and TCL to install, as
well as a Fortran compiler.
- Unix installation: To install Code_Aster on Linux, you must uncompress
the package in /opt/aster with the following command: tar xvzf
Code_Aster-9.0-Linux-xxx-re4.tar.gz -C /opt/aster/
- Windows installation: to install Code_Aster on Windows, run the
installer and follow the instructions. Code_Aster is only available on
Windows XP, 2000 32-bits, it is not available on Windows Vista.
